Flying Tile - Reworked

Couldn't resist spending a little more time with this today. It still isn't where I'd like it, but I continue to learn. This photo was taken in my studio while the painting was still on the easel. Sometimes I take the photo outside in natural sunlight. Neither seems to accurately represent the raw umber and white I use in these tone paints.

I do mine just in pencil...
You might consider doing them in one color also. Take a look at David Dewey's THE WATERCOLOR BOOK
That's what he does-1-color studies. It could be any medium really...

Thanks Carol! I'm going to move on to using a color within the next month or so. Using paint, rather than pencil or charcoal is helping me learn how to use the brush and apply the paint. I'll keep a watch out for Dewey's book.
